Holiday card...
Hi! I'm keeping up with idea of making a Holiday card every month for a year. It's April, I know, but today I have a winter card to share with you. There was this pretty pattern paper with leaves on it in Lovely Birds collection. It was one of the first papers I cut when I received the pack. I made a flower with those leaves, but just today I decided to make a card using that flower.
The flower reminded me of Poinsettia, that's where idea of making a Holiday card came to me.
I used a calendar card by Simple Stories "Sn@p" collection. The clock shape was cut with Silhouette. I designed it in the Silhouette Studio recently and wanted to share with you, but I have no clue how to do that. Please let me know if you are familiar with it. Thanks!
Ribbon, pearls and glitter finished this monochromatic card.
There's another layout and a few Mother's day cards that I have to share. Just didn't have time to get it all ready for today's post. But that gives me a good reason to come back soon!
I'll leave you with a picture of a little man, that grows up too fast...
He was enjoying his cousin's swing. He even fell asleep in it.
Well, I better go now, before today becomes tomorrow... Until next time!
Good night!

Surrounded by love...
He sure is. And that's what my page was about. I thought I only needed a little space for journaling, but the longer I worked on the page, there was more I wanted to say, which made me include journaling on the back. There was a sketch challenge on the Les papiers de Pandore blog:
We were allowed to adjust the sketch if needed to fit our style, so I flipped the sketch on it's side,
...used a cluster of photos in place of a circle photo, substituted banners with a title in a curvy way and arranged everything on a 8.5x11 size.
And a little close up:
You can see more pages from other design team members for this sketch HERE. All the paper used on this page are from Les Papiers de Pandore, green border sticker - Scenic Route, letter stickers - Sn@p by Simple Stories. Hearts were cut with Cameo.
I wanted to round this post up, but how can I not mention our weather? It seems like we totally skipped Spring this year. Seriously. We went from Winter to Summer in two weeks!
We were waiting for this weather to come for SO long! And now we try to enjoy every moment of it! Even though some of us seemed to enjoy any weather...
Now, I have to say Good night! It's finally quiet here...
Thank you for stopping by and I'll see you soon!

Layout and a card...
Hello, I'm back as promised. Today I planned to share my last two layouts for Les Paperies de Pandore, but instead I have a layout and a card. My second page needs journaling yet. I will try to get it done tonight so I can post it tomorrow. Notice, I don't always keep my promises regarding the next post :)
This time I wanted to concentrate on yellows and oranges in the collection. This gave me an idea to look for fall pictures.
I love these new flowers! If you like them too, here is my little secret how to make them :
They have these in a few different colors - light green, peach, baby pink. I bought just one to see if it will actually work the way I imagined it. And I think it did.
That will be everything for today, and I'll see you tomorrow!
Have a great day!

By adding green cardstock, I think it gave the page a totally different feel.
Banners were cut with my favorite tool - Cameo. I adhered them first and then stitched across the top.
And here is a card in similar colors.

Les papiers de Pandore.
Is anyone planning to do their December Daily this year? I'm thinking about gathering supplies for this season.

A day in my life...
Today I am...
...listening to the music of winds and rain outside my windows. This duet has been performing nonstop since morning and should continue for another day at least.
...cleaning one corner or another. It seems like as soon as I'm done in that second corner, I might need to start at the first one all over again.
...eating salad "Olivie" for lunch. Added two cans of peas to it for a little healthier version and used less mayo. Liana didn't notice the difference which means it was still good.
...smelling the just out of the oven homemade bread. As soon as my three loaf batch was ready for the oven, the electricity went down. I was a little more than upset, since yesterday the same thing happened when the bread was already in the oven. I kept pushing the dough down, thinking of other options how to bake it but luckily the electricity was fixed. Bread turned out very nice and soft after raising for five times.
...wanting to work on my Project Life so bad. I ordered seven weeks worth of photos and now am so anxious to put them all in place, add the dates, week titles and some notes. Love when the girls are willing to help.
...looking through my old Creating Keepsakes magazines and still finding ideas for my future projects. Even though products change all the time, great design and story telling ideas are always inspiring me.
...hearing kids around the house and that makes me happy. Love when all of them are home. Suzanna was so excited to have a school cancellation, that it almost felt like an early Christmas break to her.
...loosing the battle of staying away from the cookies that Suzanna made. I love cookies. Especially homemade. I don't like what they do to me but I can't eat just one.
...being tested for patience. Just some little things like placing baby for a nap and hearing him cry in five minutes. The windows make noise and he doesn't like it. I take a deep breath and repeat the steps - wrap, turn the music on, hold, sing, kiss, carry around... place in his crib, hope he will sleep for a few minutes longer.
...feeling thankful for the help from my older girls. An extra set of hands is a great reason to be thankful for and they always offer help when they are home. Love you girls.
...feeling blessed for what I have. Being without electricity for only a few hours reminded me of how good we have it and how we are used to all the conveniences. Thankful for the shelter, water, food, and comfort. Thankful for the family, friends and health. Thankful for the life of abundance.
Now some scrapbooking related rambling...
Today I got the chance to finish a page that was sitting on my table for two weeks. It is a very simple layout with a whole lot of "white space", which is a little unusual for me.
When I saw a page by Jennifer Gallacher in her "Words Unsaid" class, I knew I would scraplift that page someday. I've cut the letters of the alphabet on a cream cardstock with my Silhouette and placed little pieces of paper behind each, since I didn't have a piece of paper big enough to use as one piece...
As you know, I'm running out of supplies in my kit, so using a die cut and placing little pieces of paper behind letters was a perfect solution to stretch my supplies. Butterfly came from a "White House/ Black Market" magazine cover. I also used little white envelope to hold the journaling, but since it is more of a memorabilia then a scrapbook item, I let myself use it on my page.
Sorry for the bad picture quality. Couldn't take a photo by the window, because it was dark outside anyway. Used pop dots for the little arrow for some dimension.
Glad this type of weather is not an everyday situation. Have a great and safe day!
Until next time!

What does it take?
Hello! I came to a conclusion that I should never promise anything again. But I'm not going to promise that, because it will be another promise.
Does your menu vary between seasons? Ours does. We definitely eat more soups in colder weather. Just looking at the bright colors of fall makes me want to cook something warm for dinner. It was nice and bright yesterday, but pretty chilly, so I made Lasagna soup for dinner.
I almost never follow a recipe exactly. To make this one in a healthier version, I added white beans to it. The kids loved it! Definitely making it again.
And now back to scrapbooking. I was carrying this idea for months, but when I finally decided to make a page, I realized there's no way I can summarize everything on one layout. Here is the first page about my husband and his "hobby". I know it's so much more than that, but we just call it so.
I used a wood grain embossing folder for the background - thought it fits perfectly for the story. To make the whole page look more manly I stayed with shades of brown. Used my Silhouette to cut out musical signs and the title. Here is the story:
I had to use a very small font size to fit the journaling onto the space I left for it.
So happy to have this page done! It's such a big part of our life and it has a long and great story to go with it. I need at least three more layouts to cover it.
Very nice day out there today! Have to go enjoy it... I didn't have my morning walk, so I might go take one now with my little ones!
Until next time!

How to make paper roses...
You can easily make these by following steps on the pictures below:
1. Punch a circle. 2. Here I used 2.5 inch circle punch. If you don't have a punch, you can trace something round found around the house. 3.Cut around the circle leaving a strip about 1/3 of an inch thick. 4. Stop when you get almost to the end. You can trace a line with a pencil first if you want to.
5. On the outer part of the spiral strip make wavy line. The more uneven you make it, the prettier your flower will look. 6. Start wrapping. Make sure you begin with the outside edge. 7. Roll the entire strip trying to match the bottom part (don't worry about the top now). You can certainly do it upside down. 8. Press the flower, and let it loose on the table. If it's too tight, loosen it up a little and place it on a glut dot, pressing down. Done!
Here are two more cards with handmade paper roses (this one was inspired by the picture of a Garden found on Pinterst):
And just one more (the bracket shapes were cut with Silhouette):

New LO
Hi. Today I wanted to share quickly a page that I did this week. I know, some people are counting days for the end of this school year and I am making a "back to school" layout. I really need to order more prints to work with even though I do like these pictures...

Oh, YES!
Oh, and of course can't forget your birthday. Happy B-day Anya!"
He is pretty good at making you laugh! Thank you, brother!
Until next time!

On my table...
This is what I had on my table today... not like I really needed another piece of cake... well, I shared it with my little helper... the one that likes to grab my scraps of paper and cut them into shapes with her little scissors. Or grab a new piece of paper (when mom doesn't see it) and just ruin it in a few seconds... or use my tape runner (the opposite way) and get it all messed up... But I love having her by my site. I love to see how excited she gets when I say that her "card" looks great!

Some of these papers in the collection come decorated and with some little embellishments, like the stripped yellow paper. That tag was a part of the paper. I just added some numbers to it.

I cut out my title with the Silhouette. I LOVE how intricate it can cut. My stickers no longer dictate the colors and size of letters I can use for the title.
Last week I realized I don't have much pictures to work with anymore. Pictures that have stories I want to tell, or the ones I want to scrapbook. So, I pulled a box with CDs and DVDs and spend some time looking through them. I was surprised how little I have printed in 2009, 2010. I do have some pictures from bigger events like my sister's Wedding or a few trips we took. But since I didn't do a PL back then, our pictures with everyday moments were left behind. I was so excited to find some precious images that I don't even remember taking. I'm excited to order some more photos this week.
Hope you have a great day and I'll see you soon!

PINCH ME!!!
I thought I'll have a post every day this week, I did have enough to share, but little pieces are missing here and there, because I did let myself get distracted for one reason. One very BIG reason!
March brings a birthday for me, and to be honest I never look forward to it. Getting older is not fun. I still feel like I'm 24, and can't believe it's not true anymore. Well, someone decided to brighten up my day a little... Actually I think he just wanted to shock me. Not in any one of the very distant thoughts did I have the idea of getting such a present... I am speechless.
He also wanted to make sure it get here on time, so it came a few days earlier, and since I was home at that moment, we opened it -

It is so fancy looking! Well, I just LOVE it! No wonder I didn't feel like posting anything yesterday...
Today I want to share a page that was started before Silhouette came. I had my backgrounds and my pictures on. I also, sketched a butterfly, and cut it out twice from two different papers, one being slightly bigger then the other one. I wasn't sure about the title, and when Silhouette came, that problem was solved instantly! Love it, when you can repeat pattern paper in your title!

Also, I came across Nic Howard's blog where she shared a post about a photo a day for March. One thing I was VERY happy to read is that for us, March first marks a first day of Spring rather then Fall (she lives in Australia)! I think I need to join in for this challenge, because March might come and go and I might realize I forgot to take any pictures during this month. You can read her post here.
